A person risks a fine of up to $1,000, jail time, the loss of all equipment including his rifle, knife, and in extreme circumstances, even his pickup truck used to haul the deer and his hunting license for up to five years. First Presidency Urges Support for Refugees The First Presidency of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints has encouraged support of programs to assist refugees from the conflicts in Southeast Asia. The encouragement came in a letter to General Authorities and regional and local leaders of the Church throughout the United States. Signed by Church President Spencer W. Kimball and his twro counselors in the First Presidency, President N. Eldon Tanner, first counselor, and President Marion G. Romney, second counselor, the letter said: "Since 1975, we have been deeply concerned about and involved with the processing and sponsoring of our Church members and their extended families who are refugees from the conflicts of Southeast Asia. "While the needs of our members have been largely met. the plight of thousands of refugees from Vietnam and Cambodia is worsening. The President of the United States has recently announced the doubling of the number of refugees who will be admitted to the United States; leaders of other nations have pledged to increase significantly their efforts to aid and resettle these refugees. Three days were spent as guests of Raymond and Virginia Watts on their thousand acre ranch in Marble, Washington. They were taken on tours, the through property alfalfa and grain fields, apple orchards, timber of pines, and wild cherries and berries of all kinds. The Columbia River runs the property through which is surrounded by mountains and pine trees. Birds and wild animals were everywhere. One day was spent in Canada visiting an old mine in Rossland, paper mills and dams in Trace, B.C.. and crossing over the lake on a ferry. They were royally entertained by the Watts family. On the way home from Spokane to Lewiston, the grain harvest was in process. Miles and miles of rolling hills planted to wheat was really sight to The smoke of enjoy. forest fires was seen and the. airplanes flying over with water buckets and chemical to put them out was a sad thing to see.
