Show MRS ELIZABETH BEAU REGARD CALLED BY DEATH tuesday august 14 while eating dinner at her daughter mrs airs lyslo B paynes tes home where she has been living mrs airs elizabeth beauro gard was suddenly and called by death she died without warning or struggle merely collapsing in her chair apparently from a sudden attack of heart trouble mrs beauregard was an elderly lady being 71 years old and while she has not been very ill at any time recently yet sho she has suffered the usual infirmity of old age mrs Deau beauregard regard was one of OUT our early fillmore pioneers having come to this state and community with an migrant immigrant em train from Aliso alisoury url in 1868 on the day ot june 1869 she married reter beauregard of 0 this place mr air Deau beauregard regard having preceded her to the great beyond several years ago to this union ono one child was born mrs airs lazie B payne during her life time in fulmore fillmore people ot of this community know mrs beauregard to have been a good citizen and an industrious cheerful housewife house wife she was a devote member of the dominant domi nent church having endured the hardships and sacrifices of pioneer life into this then barren section tor for her religion all her lite life since she has been a good god fearing woman relentless in her religious faith while our pioneer women did not directly make the desert blossom as a rote yet it was undoubtedly their unbending devotion cheer falness ful ness courage and encouragement to our pioneer men that caused hem to be able to do what they did undoubtedly the good wife of peter beauregard inspired and assisted him to become the industrious bigheart big heart ed thrifty citizen that he was and we as people of this beautiful little city owe this good couple thanks tor for greatly assi assisting king in making it what it Is is had it not been tor for our good pioneer fathers and pioneer mothers utah would probably still be ba the desert waste they found it instead of the rich heritage we now possess mrs beauregard was born at lancashire ca england De december oember 10 1852 she was the youngest daugh daughter te ot of mr air lewis and mrs anna amna she had two sisters mrs airs esther critchley who answered deaths call some months ago and mrs anna davies the only surviving member of the family mrs airs beauregard early em migrated to this country with her parents and two sisters funeral services were held at the ward chaple thursday afternoon bishope par parser er robison presiding services were opened by the choir singing wei we need thee every hour under the of grover A giles the opening prayer was offered by brother neils iverson tho the many good qualities of sister beau beauregard were mentioned by the speakers william D B peter L brunson and rutus rufus day mrs stella day rendered a beautiful and appropriate vocal solo the benediction was offered by carl H day tho the large attendance at the fux funeral Leral and the large train ot of automobiles that followed the remains to the cameta ry bespoke the high in which mrs beauregard is held by the people ot f this community the grave was dedicated by brother peter L brunson |
