Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jensen of Tooele, spent last Friday here at the home of Mrs. Mary Thomas. Marguerite Debbie Laird Butler, assisted by Worthy Miss Alice Judge, Miss Debbie Ewell and Mrs. Joan Morris, hosted a miscellaneous shower last Friday evening at the Tom Judge home. The shower honored Miss Debbie Laird, a bride-elec- t of the month. The prospective bride was the recipient of many lovely gifts the Monday evening meeting of the Eatern Star, Chapter 18. A regular order of business was disposed of and the Grand Lecturer, Willmelta Smith, and her husband Leroy Smith of the valley Chapter of Provo were welcomed to the meeting. Preceding the meeting a pot luck dinner was served. This was the last meeting for the summer months. Meetings will be resumed in September. and several party Patron, Floyd Nash conducted games rounded out a nicely arranged evening. Refreshments, carried out in yellow colors, were served to the honored guest, Debbie Laird, her mother, Mrs. Donna Laird, Mrs. Lucille Bigler and special guests, the three grandmothers, Mrs. Nellie Laird, Mrs. Anna Franks, and Ruby Bigler. Others attending were Lana Rae Laird, Launa Allinson, Kim Pannell, Mabel Butler, Lorna Hannifin, Jolynn Sparrow, Patricia Brady, Pam Brady, Carolee Colovich, Effie Bell, Bonnie Leona Laird, Franks, Janalee Eastwood Marene Bird, Adele Allinson, Frances Ewell, Cleo Judge, Eileen Judge, Laurie and Marcie McCabe. Members the Eureka Methodist Church entertained at a steak fry last Saturday evening for the lay 'n of town members speakers who have conducted services here throughout the year. The steak fry was supposed to have been held at the city park, but heavy rains made it necessary to use the memorial building for the entertainment. It didnt dampen the spirts of the participants, and a very enjoyable evening was spent. Church members presented Rev. Sammons with a gift. Last Sunday was his final visit to Eureka to conduct the Sunday services here. His church people are very sorry to lose him, but wish him well in his new at- Olive Carlson celebrates 85th birthday here Family members and many of her host of friends celebrated the 85th birthday of Mrs. Olive Carlson on Sunday, June 17. Her son, Don and family of Salt Lake City were in town for the celebration, and phone calls were received from members of her family unable to come to the Eureka birthday celebration. The Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Sunday School will be at 10:00 get-togeth- er 5 at City SER- VICES Descendants of the Lawrence Larson family held a reunion last weekend in connection with the Mammoth Reunion. Family members arrived in Mammoth Friday evening for a good old family get together at the Ball Park. There were nearly 100 present for the Reunion. It was for the a delightful Lawrence Larsen family, and pronounced a resounding success by all those attending. 2 held for Advisor Assistant Scouting. Speakers were Jackie Morris, Bethine Needles, John Burton Needles, and a chorus of young people sang My Dad. They were Leon and Deon Garbett, Darrell Garbett, Brian Laird and Paul Bartschi. They were accompanied by Ann Garbett. The closing prayer was given by Rodney Christensen. Reunion held here wishes to her. The Reporter joins with her many friends in extending birthday wishes to her on her 85th who were as Columbia Rebekah Columbia Rebekah Lodge No. 2, met last Thursday evening in the Miners Union Hall, with vice Grand, Helen Laird conducting. A business meeting was held and several games of Bingo were played. First prize was won by Nellie Laird, the cut, Bee Ainge. Hostesses for the evening, 4:00 friends, Sunday evening services at the Eureka Ward LDS Chapel were conducted by Dave Garbett. The music was under direction of Norma Jameson and Barbara Bartschi. The opening prayer was given by Ronald Gilson, Jr. Bethine Needles was released as Primary President, and Sue Fielding was released as Drama Director of the MIA. Clara Bates was sustained as President of the Primary, and Earl Grimstead was sustained tending were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tuckett, Santaquin; Mrs. Myrtle Hansen, Goshen, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Roach, Payson; Mrs. Carol Larsen of Spanish Fork, and Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Butler of Provo. assignment.
