When the crowd gathers for the August 17 celebration, there will be many not present, and surely missed. We hope to see YOU there! The folks will start arriving as early as the Sunday before, just to camp and reminisce. The reunion will actually be held on Firday, August 17, with registration on i I arrival. Potluck will be at 1:00 p.m. followed by a fun auction (but we will miss our auctioneer, Neldo Lemmon, who is recuperating from hip surgery.) The Annual Tintic Silver Festival begins today with the golf tournament hosted by the Elks Lodge. The Silver City reunion also began this morning. The Miss Tintic Pageant will be tonight at the high school at 7 p.m. Tomorrows festivities include the scout flag ceremony and breakfast in the morning followed by the parade and a full day of concessions, ghost town tours, and museum tours. This is the first of three steps to becoming a 21 Century Local Community. governments across the state are accepting the challenge to prepare and plan for their future. The three major steps to becoming a 21 Century Community are: first accepting the challenge and appointing a team, second completing community assessments and training requirements, and third implementing a work plan for a community project. Once all steps have been completed the community will then present their work and completed project for designation as a 21 Century Community.
