Show wm dennis death was one ot the oldest residents of the tin tic district william T dennis one of the pio I 1 neer residents of the gintic mining district and one of the best known miners of utah died at his home here on bionday evening his ilia death re suited from miners consumption from which he had bad been suffering for over a year for a week or ten days previous pi evious to his death he realized that he be was fast pass ng into the shadow s of life but he died asb he eliNed hv ed brave ly welcoming death because he real iced that there was absolutely no hope for his reco recovery ery and because he knew that death only could mean a cessa tion of suffering billy dennis was not a religious man but his life had bad been as an open book and when the time came to bid his family and friends good ave li e he did it with a smile upon his face and with words of love for those around him and then closed his eves to pleasant dreams the tile deceased w m as born at salem utah fifty years ago his boyhood days were spent in the southern part of the state but early in life he lie came to tintic gintic and has been a resident of the district ener ev er since he li lived lied ed at diamond for several years after his arri arrival al in tintic gintic but forthe for the past twenty five or thirty years he has made hia his home in eureka he work ed in many of the mines of the dist net and during recent years bears he fol lowed leasing he ile leaves a wife and four children all of v N horn hom were at his bedside when death came the children are mrs T A thurmond of provo mrs david mills mrs warren mcadams and claude dennia dennis of eureka mr dennis was a member of the odd fellow s lodge of this city and alwa s took a great interest in the affairs of ane order it wa was his re quest that the funeral services over his remains be taken entin entirely from the ritual of the order the services were mere conducted at the 1 I 0 0 F hall yesterday afternoon under the auspices of eureka lodge no 12 and the body was laid to its last rest in the city cemetery the musical numbers at the funeral were rendered by mesdames thur mond and zabriskie and phillips and garrity rev allison who is a member of the order de livered a brief eulogy the remainder of the service being given by the officers of the lodge |
