Show HICKMAN-SMOW RECEPTION The wedding reception given at the ! home of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Hickman in honor of the marriage of their I daughter Vera and Mr. RusselS. Snow, last Thursday afternoon and evening, was one of the grandest affairs that has been given in the vicinity. The festivities beg in at about four o'clock, when tie gue3ts began to arrive, ar-rive, and continued until ten o'clock. Some of the most beautiful go vns of the season were in eviden-e, adequate descriptions of which would baffle our powers. The bride, however, looked exquisite ex-quisite in a gown of corn color silk crape de chine over a messaline of the same color. Shadow lace formed the triming whiie a wreath of orange blossoms blos-soms was worn upon her head. The rooms were decorated in most charming charm-ing manner, yellow and red predominating predomin-ating in the color scheme. Tne decorating decora-ting was done under the direction of Miss Laura Hickman. Practically all wtio found it at all possible, attended and the gay crowd was composed of a large number of, friends anil neighbors besides rel itives. of whom there were a fair representation, representa-tion, though many who are living upstate up-state found it impossible to be in at- i tendance. Grandma Hickman of Ben- ! jamin, Prof. J. E. Hickman, Leslie I Hickman and wife and Miss Laura Hickman, (who will be remembered for her excellent work as instructor in english in the Academy some time ago) j were present and Mr. and Mrs. John Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Justeseri i and Mrs. Lydia Grange of Orangeville ' were present from that town. Besides I there were the fifty or more friends ! from Castledale. j An impromptu program was render-j ed with nearly everyone taking part, after which light luncheon was served, I and the balance of the evening taken i up with chatting. i A particular feature of the party I was the multitude of handsome pre- j ents received by the couple, some of 1 the same coming from every part of the state. Mr. and Mrs. Snow will reside at the Hickman home for the time' being but will move into the Pettey residence in July. |
