Show Meat Supplies To Be Reduced The new year brings out the mystic in all of us. Since everyone every-one enjoys taking a peek into the future, let's take a look at the meat situation for 1966. Meat production has stabilized, stabi-lized, and Americans will be eating slightly less meat in the coming year. Per-capita consumption for 1965 is an estimated esti-mated 168.5 pounds, whereas predictions for 1966 are for 164.7 pounds. The month of January comes during the season of abundant pork,' although most of the reduced re-duced supplies will be in that meat. Beef of all kinds is plentiful plen-tiful this month. Supplies of lamb will be about 5 per cent lower than a year ago, while veal will be about the same as last year. . . |
