TICS DRAGERTON TRIBUNE Exalted Ruler Cyvv 'A. sfo v. v.y- - ft Fishing Season For Utah Sot by Game Commission avtq.gjKW ' A Final regulations governing the 1952 fishing season have been set by the Utah Fish and Game Com- -' mission. The Commission had previously scheduled the opening and closing dates for the general trout season as June 14 thru October 12. Special regulations include: the bass, perch, sunfish and crappie season, May 10 October 12. v as DRAGERTON, UTAH Trout may also be kept when taken in any of these early opening waters. Deer Creek Reservoir opens at the above time to all types of angling. , Waters of the (High Uintahs were opened to fishing July 1 thru October 12. Bag and possession limits on game fish remains the same, as last year, or seven pounds andor one fish or twelve fish, whichever is caught first. One exception 'this year was the change in possession and bag limits on catfish which reads, 20 fish or 20 pounds, whichever is caught first. The Commission took this action to conserve the large channel catfish found in many of the states waters. Wednesday, April 2, 1352 Fishing hours for all types of angling remain at 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily. Legal size on game fish is seven inches -- except that the legal size of Mackinaw trout in Fish Lake was increased to fifteen inches. This was done to protect the decreasing stocks of tiiis species in Fish Lake. Size limit on bass remains ten inches. Early closing of Fish Lake, Johnson Valley Reservoir, and the Seven Mile drainage was set for September 14. Strawberry Reservoir will remain open' one week after the regular closing on October 12, or October 19. The Commission again ruled out the use of boats, rafts, and other floating devices on most high lakes and many of the other waters over the state. These, and other special regulations are shown in the 1952 Angling Proclamation. The Commissioners noted that all fishermen should cut from the paper when published, or otherwise themselves of, a copy of this years fishing proclamation for their use in determining the regulations and all changes thereof over the regulations in force during previous years. a-v- The Department of Defense of the U. Another Labor Group Opposes Socialism In the last year or so, an impressive list of labor organizations has gone on record in opposition to the socialization of industry. The Michigan State Utility Workers Joint Council, which is made up of CIO utility unions, took that step recently. It called for a halt of government ownership of utilities before it enmeshes the entire labor movement. It pointed out, in effect, that cheap government power is a fraud, as many of the real costs are paid for by taxes. It then asked that this be changed so that the taxpayers of one section of the country are not paying for lower electric rates charged in other parts of the country. Union labors changing attitude toward socialism is highly significant. Up until relatively recently, the major labor organizations stood solidly for public ownership of utilities of all kinds. Now labor has been discovering that when government takes oyer, labors hard-wo- n rights go out the window. No group can bargaih on goviair terms with ernment. Free labor and free enterprise have fought many battles. But one all-power- ful theyll live thing is certain gether or die together. to- Mines Highly Mechanized Bituminous coal mines in the United States are the most highly mechanized in the world.
