Pizza places compared; 2 Fat Guys best, affordable in town one of the smaller pizza BY JACKIE FLETCHER Dixie Sun A&E Editor restaurants in town, Wljien it comes to cheap college dining, nothing beats the taste of hot, cheesy, disgustingly greasy pizza. It's generally cheap, large, and fun to eat, depending on where one goes to get it. Some pizza places offer better quality pies, and after trying out some places around town, I can tell you which ones I thought were the best. 1. 2 Fat Guys Pizza: My mouth waters just thinking about eating here. Being the only pizza place in town that cooks pizzas on an almond brick oven makes a huge difference, giving the pizza an authentic Italian flavor," as manager Paula Sawson said. Not only was the pizza at 2 Fat Guys Pizza fantastic, but it was also cheap. As far as dine-iprices go, ours are the lowest of all of the others, Sawson said. She said she has made sure of this by going around to the other pizza places in town and comparing prices. By also traveling around, I could see that she was right. The pepperoni pizza I tore into was hot and fresh, and it was done in less than five minutes, something I had not expected. It was topped with large amounts of melting cheese, which I can almost still taste. While 2 Fat Guys Pizza is wood-burnin- g n it makes up for its size with a quality all its own, clearly achieved through its unique oven and friendly staff. 2 Fat Guys Pizza offers a 10 percent student ID and is located at 144 W. Brigham Road 16. Restaurant hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is closed Sundays. 2. The Pizza Factory: With more than one location nearby, it was worth it to step through the doors of this restaurant for the breadsticks alone; they were by far the best breadsticks I had eaten at any pizza place. Deciding to step away from the usual pepperoni pizza I choose to eat frequently, I went with a slice of The Factory Deluxe, topped with lots of meat and veggies, including ham, pepperoni, sausage, cheese, olives, onions, peppers and mushrooms. The ingredients were strangely complimentary and almost made me think one could put anything on a pizza and have it turn out well. The pizza and breadsticks, while among the best in St. George, were extremely greasy, coating my fingers as I ate. There is no denying it; I will visit this restaurant again. What I ous tastes in It was not liked most about Pier 49 was the variety of fancy fresh, neither was it warm, but the large amounts Of and unique pizzas they have available. Island Pizza When I tle more than the other walked up to the doors of restaurants, depending on what one orders. They Island Pizza, I had no idea it would be so large inside. Not only was the buffet bar long and covered in all sorts of salads, pizzas and pastas, there was also an arcade area filled with various video games. It was definitely the largest pizza place I went to. I ordered some pepperoni pizza and waited about six minutes for it to come out. It was very good to bite into and very fresh. While I didnt think it really compared with the pepperoni I had eaten at 2 Fat Guys Pizza, the taste was still pretty great. The crust was a little crispier than I was used to, but I actually really liked that aspect of the pizza Island Pizza is located at 755 W. Telegraph St. in Washington, where Eatza Pizza once resided. Skateboarding is what freshman Rachel Ahlberg, an undecided major from Heber City, would like to accomplish this year. Plus I really think it will help me with my snow- board skills. In order to learn to skateboard Ahlberg plans to find someone who can skateboard to teach her and practice when her schedule permits. Megan Valencia, a freshman undecided major from West Jordan, said she wants to read four novels this year. She has made a list of novels she would like to read and is going to try to read at least 20 minutes every day. Im not a big reader, so this is a hard thing for me to do, Valencia said.
