Show The Dixie Sun Page 4 February 11, 1997 News Editor: Missy Evans From Hansen to Hurst, tiny worms find home By REBECCA LLOYD THE DIXIE SUN Hurst Field, which had it's baseball field redone last quarter, acquired on another face-li5. Feb. , Wednesday The Dixie College stakes, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, helped lay sod along with the baseball team, faculty, staff, and a few people that just stopped by to help in front of the stadium entrance. This was a service project for them that was enjoyed by many. The sod came from the Hansen Stadium football field, which will be getting replanted in March in time for the 1997 football season. ft -- TYLER THORSTEDTHE DIXIE SUN Many students and faculty showed up to help with the sod laying in front of Hurst Field. President Huddleston himselt came to show his support along with Jeremy Bates. There was a barbeque immediately afterwards. Though there was dirt everywhere, and even tiny worms in the sod, people from the Mormon Church still took it in their arms to make the stadium entrance nice to look at. The sod was delivered by forklift and yet the volunteers had to wait in line just to receive their rolled up sod. After the group, consisting mostly of college students, layed the sod, they had a barbeque, donated by Dixie College Food Services, for all their hard work. Amanda Giordano, a Dixie College student, said, "It felt good to help the school look better after many months of not participating in any service projects." - (E SPECIAL 4 MONTH MEMBERSHIP STUDENTS ONLY lk DOWN IK ID) Visit 145 II CARD AX 400 NORTH or I at: WEST CALL 628-920- 1 A t must show This ad and sTudenT I.D .
