These fires usually start when cooking oil or grease comes in contact with the hot electrical plate and ig: nites. According to a recent change in Army Regulations, occupants of government quarters can be held liable for the cost of repairing the damages. Dugway Fire Chief Jack Skinner recommends that residents take the following precautions to prevent kitchen fires: 1. If frying, or cooking anything in deep fat or oil, have either an approved fire extinguisher, or some baking soda near the stove where you can get it in a hurry. 2. A good fire extinguisher at about $25 is far less costly than the damages fires could do. 3. Army toPT in Navy caps A Beginners Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course will be offered at Dugway, sponsored by Utah State University, starting on March 4, 1985 for ten weeks. The course will be held on Monday and Wednesand Fridays 8:30 a.m.-4:3-0 day from 6:00-9:3- 0 p.m. Students who complete the 'course will earn nine quarter hours credit. Cost for the course will be $236 plus a $22 book charge. Military can get tuition assistance.
