In February of 1983, this body of d muscles arrived in Dugway as an air traffic controller. He kept a low profile for awhile until people started to notice this ser- ious bodybuilder pumping iron at the gym. Slowly people began working out with him and benefitting from, his expertise in this Tiobby as he calls it. Then one day a new, kind of people took an interest, in the sport of sweat and , started out just working with one or two pain, women women a couple of nights a week but now he has about five women who keep him busy five nights a week. Since last October White has been helping these women , ; learn the art of toning their muscles and strengthening their bodies. He feels at ease working with women be-- , cause, while in Hawaii, he trained with two serious women . bodybuilders. White explained to me the difference between training techniques of men and only women is that women train for tone, while men train for bulk. y Hannelore Payne is one of Whites most dedicated stu- dents. She works out with him five nights a week. Since beginning training with him. Ms. Payne has become a more energetic person. She feels that weightlifting and exercising has made her more healthy and stronger while ... also building a very well-tone- d body. . Another of Whites more committed students is Virginia Fox. Ms. Fox said, "Ive learned to build my muscles up slowly and to concentrate with every move or Otis has a way to convince you. I think, this bodybuilding is the greatest since peanut butter. All the women agree its hard work and requires a lot of dedication but-ithe end its worth it beause of the new you gain. White enjoys bodybuilding so much that, he hopes to y open up his own gym sometime in the future. Meanwhile he will continue to train hard and hopefully have a chance: to compete with the best of them someday. Whatever hap-- ; he will continue to help people pens, though, you can in achieving their goals whilehe is on the track of accom' plishing his own, fine-tone- -- s. In 1979, Sp5 Qtis White began bodybuilding. '. '. S r. sandy beaches of Hawaii,, White, a native of Columbia, Georgia, was stationed in Hawaii when he acquired the obsession of bodybuilding. Maybe it did help get the attention of girls? Anyway, through all his dedication and hard work it earned him the right to participate in body building competition, Mr. Aloha. When the muscles had all been flexed and the ratings tallied up. White had earned a respectable 8th place. Since that show he has competed in two other competitions held in San Diego where he placed 6th in the Apollo contest and 8th in the Mr. Armed Forces contest, ' .
