When he took over the post he wanted someinput from the grassroots level on how the post should be run; so he solicited responses from everyone. The comments he received gave him advice on how he should manage various resources at A PC and what new policies should be adopted. The comments he received ranged from simple statements like Shut it down, to two-pag- e, typed letters advocating a switch to flextime for the work force. Dugway would like to try such a , program. Colonel Charles Bay, post commander, would also like to hear your comments and suggestions on how you would change or enhance this post if you were Commander. Oddly enough, equal opportunity came along only in the last ten years. In 1971, Jackson was sent overseas to Korea, again in the capacity of communications. But while he was there, the 43 year old was assigned the duties of an equal opportunity officer. AFTER discovering he liked the work, Japkson was sent packing his bags to RAF Chicksands, England in 1973 where he stayed for five years. A year later, he was inTexas at Bergstrom Air Force Base in the same capacity until retirement. . I believed in what the program was trying to do, he explained, referring to his Korean stint as EEO officer. For this reason the Army has to react harshly and swiftly. Such is the case with the soldiers in Germany who were sentenced 30 days of hard labor and a fine of $500.00 for being grossly obscene to a fellow woman soldier. Many people are saying that this sentence was too harsh. I dont think so. Woman soldiers (just as men soldiers) have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and an We have been outnumbered and outgunned before just as the Swiss officer was, yet we had the confidence that he had in his countrymen and their will to fight for their country when he made that statement. Its time to let the Soviet Union know again that though we may be outnumbered 2, 3 even 4 to one, all that means is well just have tp fire more rounds, and we can count on each American to account for his share. With this renewed self confidence we can again remind the nation and the world that nothing can stop a determined America. ,li non-payi- rflll , ji pi s-,- ..
