This is a serious hazard and children playing in such structures could very easily be buried. Parents are reminded to be aware of where children play and what their activities are, and to provide supervision and control over these activities. Dugways rattlesnake hazard With the onset of the warm weather season, the snake population becomes active again and can be a problem from now until the cold weather season. During the past few summers rattlesnakes have been found in backyards, in the hills, brush areas near housing and other desert locations. People are reminded to be on the lookout for snakes in their yards. and during outdoor activities. If a snake is spotted in your yard, do not molest it or let your children or pets near it, call one of the following agencies: The Insect and Rodent Control Offlce at extension In previous "Dugway Team articles we covered the various divisions of Materiel Test, Cost estimate and Administrative office, Chemical Laboratory, and Test Design and Analysis to name a few so you now have a background on the type of testing Dugway does. Technical Support Division of Materiel Test could be described as the doers as for as tests are concerned because they are the people who physically set-u- p the tests and gather the information for the test officers report. Technical Support can be broken down into six brandies: Instrumentation Control and Administrative Office, Grid Operations Branch, Grid Services Branch, Weapons Systems Brandi, Optical Data Branch and Instrumentation Brandi. INSTRUMENTATION Control and Administrative Office is headed by Ronald M. Goble. This group of people is in charge material acquisition, maintenance contracting, maintenance work orders, handling of supplies and things of this nature. Grid Operations Branch is headed by Robert D. Sagers. They do most of the actual field work. This branch is responsible for setting up samplers in the grids, the decontamination operation (including portable decontami- nation stations), they operate the technical laundry and change house operations, they handle and control all receipt and issue of gas masks and canisters, in general they usually supply the technical field support for chemical testing in the field. Also attached to Sagers is the range clean-u- p work force. Grid services branch is headed by A. Barney Johnson. This group of people are heavy equipment operators and electricians. The electricians supply portable power to the grids from generators. A typical field test can use power from about 1000 batteries. A Drivers License Exams The Utah state driven examiners will be at the Dugway Proving Ground has announced the successful completion of the demilitarization of 60 munitions in the Drill and Transfer System (DATS). Hie specially designed system uses a glove box to enclose the munition while it is drilled and rained of chemical agent, thereby preventing any release of the chemical agent to the atmosphere.
