The Mustangs won their first two games in the tourand Escalante 63-5ney downing Panguitch 68-5- 7 They were then defeated by the eventual state champions Gunnibefore being beaten 56-5- 2 son 60-5- 1 by South Sevier for third place. Coach Walden Gurneys team won their Region Nine Division racking up seven wins against a single loss and then went to the finals of the Region Nine tourney liefore being beaten in overtime. Two Mustangs made the team at Provo with senior guard Rex Palmer and junior forward Randy Brown gaining the honors. 8. SOUTH SEVIER 56 MUSTANCS 52 2 The South Sevier Rams downed the Mustangs in the tattle to determine third place in the state tournament. WITH THE LOSS Dugway ended in sixth place, the first time that the Mustangs have ended that high in state basketball competition.
