Hundreds Ask For Speeches By Authorities Secretaries in the Church offices have been kept busy the last three weeks answering hundreds of requests for copies of talks given by General Authorities during . April Conference. Most often requested are talks on the subjects of sex education in public schools and the decline of morality among the youth of the nation. Missionary department secretaries answer all correspondence not addressed to a specific speaker. Letters, which have been received from almost every state in the nation, are often addressed to the secretary of the tabernacle, Mormon Church reverends or simply, Temple Square, Salt Lake City, Utah. A woman- from Pennsylvania wrote, These messages were quite pertinent and since we come in contact with many young persons and point the way to salvation to them we would like copies of the talks." She also noted that the subject of immorality and sex education are grossly neglected from the average pulpit. A man from Los Angeles wrote, "I w!sh to compliment and commend you on the excellent messages delivered over the radio the past three days. Improvement on those messages would be quite impossible. You did the nation a great service in speaking out on some things that are destroying our upcoming generation." He added although he was not a member of the Church, he admired the forthright stand for decency, clean living and righteousness it takes. Scores of letters written from throughout the nation mentioned current disputes in their own communities a bom sex education and requested copies of tadcs dealing with the subject so they can be presented in school board meetings and in PTAs.
