Show SALINA. . A year ago the Farmers' Institute workers met the people of Salina, and in the course of the work there the methods of the Salina farmers were very severely criticized," perhaps per-haps too scvcrly. There never has been at Salina, a very great interest taken in the Farmers' Institute work, and the workers naturally felt that there should' be' more interest manifested mani-fested on the part of the people there. However, the meetings there last week 'were the most enthusiastic, enthusias-tic, and more interest was shown than at any of the places visited this year. The cars were taxed to overflowing, over-flowing, and the .evening meetings were so crowded that the hall did not provide room for all who desired to gain admittance. Practically the entire community turned out to hear the lectures, and a great deal of interest in-terest was manifest. Both the sections sect-ions for men and women were crowded crowd-ed at each of the sessions and the questions asked denoted that there was a keen interest in and a lively appreciation of the work. We arc confident that Salina will hereafter be numbered among the lively "M11- H stitutc towns of the state, and vc H arc equally confident that the result H of the Institute will be made mani H fest in the improved methods of" the ' H farmers in that locality. It is a mat1- H tor of great pride to-the Director of; fl the Farmers' Institutes to know that fl Salina gave such an enthusiastic re" M ccption to the workers. It is cer- M tainly to be hoped that the good M feelings inaugcratcd there last week H will continue throughout the years M to come. H |
