Show DESTROYING FIELD MICE. By Prof. E. G. Titus, A. C. U. in answer to Mr. Lcverson. In the destruction of field mice wc have found the following treatment quite successful. Dissolve one ounce of strychnine in two quarts of hot water, add to this one pound of sugar. In this mixture soak one-half bushel of crack ed wheat until all the water has been absorbed'. This grain should then be placed in the runways of the animals or tin cans may ibe crushed or flattened so that birds, cats and dogs cannot get inside them, but large enough for the mice to pass through easily, and the poisoned grain placed in these. A piece 01 old lead pipe will answer the same purpose. Extreme care should be exercised ex-ercised to see that other animals do not get at the poisoned grain. |
