Show parent, these unite o form the hybrid hy-brid "A a." The resulting individual individ-ual "A a" would in this case resemble resem-ble "A." In the first generation from hybrid hy-brid J4 of the plants would still possess pos-sess the dominant character, while J would have solely the recessive character, or a ratio of 3 dominant) 1 recessive. In the next generation however, the 3 dominant brake up into 1 pure dominant and 2 hytbrid characters so that in the second generation gen-eration the ratio becomes 1 dominant, domi-nant, 2 hybrids, 1 recessive or A plus 2 A a plus a. He concludes that in tlic ovaries of the hybrids there are formed as many, sorts of egg cells and in the anthers as many sorts of pollen cells as there arc possible constant combination com-bination forms, and that these egg and pollen cells agree in their internal inter-nal composition with those of the separate forms. These egg and pollen pol-len cells arc also formed in cquai numbers. The characters of the hybrid "A a" arc not considered as having been transmitted from its parents "A" and "a" but is a special character peculiar pecu-liar to "A " itself, just as nacl is not a body half way between na and c' but is a body having characters peculiar pe-culiar to itself. o |
