For this purpose the chose one of her bright ecnolars acd dispatched him with a note directed to the youog lady. When the messenger arrived at his destination the teacher chanced to be illustrating some lea-ton lea-ton to her pupils' at the blackboard. She therefore sent word to the boy to take a chair. When at leisure she summoned the boy, who was HipposcU to bo seated In the corridor, corri-dor, but ho had disappeared. The young lady was nonplursed, but the mystery was solved when, seme time later, the boy returned, tearing with him the chair which bad been given him to sit upon. He had ac- cepted the invitation "take a chair," and had carried It upon his shoulders shoul-ders back to the school he came from. The teacher, after she had recovered from the shock of seeing him drag tbe strango chair up to herand deposit It by her side with a cou-clous air of duty well performed, per-formed, had sint him back with it.
