THAT WAS a year in which plenty of question marks surrounded Davis High Foootball. But the biggest question of all was whether the seniors could pull things together and continue the winning tradition. Of course we know they did. That team came back with few or no returning starters from the year previous and all they did was go in league play and earn a coveted spot in the playoffs. 5-- 0 ITS MUCH of the same story this year. There are very few starters, in fact just one, from last years 10-- 1 team. 1985 seems a good group of senior players but the question has to be answered yhether they can pull things together and learn how to win together on the varsity level. commuted may have played a lot of junior varsity, but its an entirely different world from JV to varsity. THE DARTS will have a few questions answered this Friday night as they travel for their 85 opener at Weber High School to Pleasant View under the lights. The Darts will build their line this year around people like Roger Horne, Trevor Page, Brian Jeffers, Shane Lee, Trevor Hoskins, Mike Anderson, Brent Clark, Cory Soundrop, Eric Franks and Tyler Hoskins. DICKSON LIKES the way the other skilled people are working hard, like Clay Singley at quarterback, Kurt Mounteer as a back, Greg Willard, Curtis Stoddard, Sam Gardner, Rob Warden and Jeff Kinard. The Darts will have strength at most of the back positions this year. Epoe DAVIS schedule appears much tougher than in the past. Weber is improved, the Ben Lomond Scots are improved and Clearfield-Davi- s clashes are always toughies. All of that will undoubtedly help prepare Davis for their league schedule. If our seniors can come to school and show the others how to work, then we might enjoy this year a whole lot. If they dont, then this year could be a long one, said Dickson in conclusion.
