I TRY TO do things as simply as possible. Dutch oven cooking takes practice but it would certainly be ideal for camping outings. One pot or pan meals can cut down greatly on the number of utensils needed and the amount of food packed for the camping trip. Think about things that can be prepared usstove and a deep cast ing a small iron frying pan. Add a cooler to the camping equipment and you have three tools that can be used in the preparation of all meals. FOODS Sl'Cll as stew s that can be prepared ahead of time can be frozen. This provides extra coolant for the other foods. Milk also freezes well in gallon jugs. Bacon and eggs are mainstays. Pancake flour that takes up little space and requires only eggs, milk or water before cooking is another g sensible, camp breakfast food. SANDWICHES, fixed at home, arc good for the first day of camping. Prepared meats, hot dogs and fresh vegetable sticks provide enough nourishment for several days of lunches. More tilling supper menus might include foil covered foods that can be baked in a pit. Foil is lightweight and easy to pack out. Frozen chili casseroles that can be cooked in a deep frying pan and stews are other ideal camp foods. DESSERTS can be fresh fruits. These can be stored for three or four days in a cooler. When the fruit is eaten, there is nothing to pack out. You might want to try these easy camping-ou- t main dishes. I quick-cookin- g 1 I one-burn- good-size- d 7-- ': 8 Staff Sgt. Roger G. All of these factors add up to what is called negative cash flow. This is a fancy way of saying that more money is being paid out on insurance claims than is coming in from insurance premiums. Of course insurance companies dont rely just on premiums to keep business going. They also invest the money they take in. Unfortunately, these investments have not been able to keep up with rapidly rising costs. THE EXPERT panel noted that private consumers probably have not noticed much of a change in auto and life insurance rates because these comprise only a small percentage of the insurance market. They may rise also, but not as drastically as business liability insurance. One thing that is certain, though, when the cost of insuring a fleet of concrete trucks triples, someone is going to have to start paying more for concrete.
