He was raised on a farm, learning the virtues of hard work there and in the family print shop, the Carr Printing Co. in Bountiful. He Help for vets The American Legion Service Officer, Dave Parkinson, will be traveling for the Veterans Outreach Program to assist veterans and their dependents with VA benefits. He moved to Farmington and worked for 16 years as a grower for the Miller Floral Co. The knowledge gained there, pius a lifelong interest in horticultural pursuits, has made his flowers and produce a real treat. During World War II he worked in construction at Hill Field and then his remaining 26 working years were spent as a road fireman and later an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad, running between Salt Lake and Pocatello or other locations as needed. His civic duties included a term on the Farmington City Council and officer in the Steed Creek Irrigation and Water Company. He has served in various LDS Church positions throughout his life, in p.m. People News Wendy Mikesell and Brett E. Skinner were married Thursday, Aug. 14 in the Salt Lake LDS Wanda Pitt and Rob Wilkinson were married Aug. 14 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The bride is the daughter of L. Lorn and Norma Pitt of 490 N. Main, Kaysville. Parents of the bridegroom are Wayne and Shirley Wilkinson of Mt. Green and Robert Temple. The bride is the daughter of Don R. and Dana Lee Mikesell of Salt Lake City. Parents of the bridegroom are Nick and Karyl Faulkner of Layton and the late Jerry L. Skinner. Following the ceremony, the couple was honored at a wedding breakfast at Little America Res- Hackler. The couple was honored at an open house at the Howard Clowardi residence. taurant. Kurt Blackburn served as best man with Kris Simmons, Nick and Chris Faulkner as ushers. The bride graduated from Preston High School and attended the University of Utah. She is presently employed at UTBL in Salt Lake City. The bridegroom graduated from Layton High School and is attending Weber State College. He served an LDS Kobe Japan mis- - The bride is a graduate of Davis High and filled an LDS Scotland mission. The groom is a graduate of Morgan High and Weber State College. He served an LDS Uruguay mission and is a 2nd Lt. in the Utah National Guard. After a honeymoon to Yellowstone and Jackson Hole, they will make their home in Kaysville.
