He received an honorary lifetime pass to the State Parks of the state for his volunteer work on the early construction of the Antelope Island Causeway. An active member of the Syracuse 1st LDS Ward, he has been president of the Elders Quorum, a counselor in the High Priest group and also filled a stake mission and has been a Home teacher. IRA P. ROBERT Taylor, a native of Ogden, received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va., and completed residency at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City in internal medicine. Raised in the Boise Valley in Idaho, Dr. Taylor received his under- graduate education from Ricks College in Rexburg, Ida. and Baylor University in Texas. In addition, he obtained a physical therapy certificate from the University of Texas and earned a masters degree from Old Dominion University in Virginia. f selected as a finalist in the 14th annual Miss Utah National Teen-Age- r Pageant to be held at the Marriott Hotel, Salt Lake City May - ABBIE THURGOOD life and still resides in her own home that she cares for with pride and love. THURGOOD was born Dec. 2, 1894 in Kanesville. Utah, the daughter of William Foster and Diane Baker Robinson. She grew up in Weber County and on Nov. 4, 1914 was married to Loran Alvin Thurgood in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple sided in Syracuse their entire life where they owned and operated a very large dairy farm and acreage. Mr. Thurgood died Dec. 5, 1979. dren and presiden- t-elect; neighbors are invited to visit with him on his special day.
