FIRE CHIEF Don Howard has nothing but respect and praise for these men who donate so much time to protect the city. During the 1984 calendar year, according to the annual Fire report, the department responded to 88 calls in Kaysville, 12 in Fruit Heights and eight in Davis County. We are very proud of our last year's Fire Prevention and First Aid Programs. Some 484 hours were all donated, which reached 7,301 people. This Figure (however) does not include the school children involved in Fire drills. There were 85 tours conducted through the fire station, 82 classes taught to Boy Scouts, Relief Society and babysitting groups and seven first aid classes totalling 174. MUCH TIME is required for inspection in the area as well, with the department conducting 164 business inspections, 56 e 23 centers, 17 home inspections, 10 school and seven churches. Chief Howard feels they have an excellent training program. Not only have we had 891 man hours of training, but also have had three firemen certify for EMT (Emergency Medical Technicians) during the past year. We now have two paramedics and eight EMTs on the city department, he said. THE DEPARTMENT was invited by the Sheriff to give an extrication demonstration at the Davis County Fair in conjunction w ith the Sheriff s Paramedics and Ambulance personnel and also the LDS Hospital Life Flight. The Kaysville department received rescue equipment from the paramedics for future use and the county authorized the department to use its extrication exercise in the Farmington, Kaysville and Layton areas. CHIEF HOWARD said, "With Kaysville and Fruit Heights tremendous growth, the responsibility and demands on the fire department to give high quality service has mushroomed to where its time for the mayor and city council to seriously consider fire chief. This person would be a authorized to handle all fire inspections, code enforcement, burning permits, new business inspections and a yearly check of all fire hydrants. fire chief could better keep up A w ith the updated training for emergency disasters, hazardous material spills and maintenance of equipment, Mr. Howard said. home-busines- day-car- full-tim- e full-tim- e t 544-322- 1 89 First publication 13, 1985 Last publication March March 27, 1985 Issue No. 6 degrees West 63.3 feet along said street to the point of begin- City of Layton, and as set forth and deestablDeclar- ation of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions of 2 NOTICE OF TRUSTEES SALE ning.
