OFFICIAL voting boothes were borrowed from the county and set up in the Commons area of the high school. In order for a student to vote in the final elections, he had to show his activity card and have his name checked off the official list of all students attending Layton High School. Voting boothes were set up during both lunch hours and after school until 3 p.m. one day only. Senior class officers with the supervision of their advisors, Dick Walker, Shirley Hughes and Galen Nixon and the Junior class officers with assistance from their advisors, DeAnn Judd, Muriel Elzey and Shirrel Martin, worked in the polling areas. lf boothes. PRIMARY elections did not follow the voting booth format. Students went into the auditorium to listen to speeches by the candidates.
