Honored guests were the county officers, Mildred Heap, Lorc - Adams Marilyn Crandall and Alice 2 1 in the THE BRIDE is the daughter of Ed and Louise Lore of 36 Golden Circle, Fruit Heights. Dwane Brough WiU Retire THE BRIDE attended Davis High, Weber State and BYU. She filled an LDS Calgary Alberta Canada mission. The groom is attending BYU and has Idled an LDS Germany mission. Dwane Brough, Bountiful, will be retiring at the end of this school, from 34 years as a teacher and administrator in education. He is principal at Wasatch Elementary School in Clearfield. MR. BROUGH has been principal at this school for the past six years. Prior to that time he was principal at Centerville, Orchard and Oakhills. Refreshments were served, dmg African Violet Society Readies Show One oi the highest honors the The African Violet Society of Utah will present its 32nd annual flower show on May 12 and 13. There will be over 200 violet plants on display, ranging from thimble-siz- e miniatures to plants measuring 24 inches across. IT WILL be held at the Garden 1602 F. 2100 S., Salt Lake City from p.m. on May 12 and 10 a m. to 6 p.m. on May 13. There is no admission charge. The general public is invited to visit the show and view the exhibits. Center Activity Building, MONTE PEARCE of Layton is the show chairman. MEMBER ol the Bountiful Chapter since shoitly after its inception in 1973, Mrs. Shreve has Utah State Poetry Society can award. Honorary Life Membership, was confened upon Maxine roft Shreve at a recent annual Awards Festival held at the University ot Utah. Only 16 Life Memberships have been conferred since the Utah State Poetry Society was founded in 1950 Mrs. Shieve's award was the first since 1976. C 1 HE UTAH State Poetry Socie- ty, affiliated with the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and the Academy of American Poets, is comprised of 200 members in 12 chapters throughout the state. The gratitude and appreciation of these poets were expiess-e- d in the award to Mrs. Shreve for her service and leadership in chap QUOTING from the award, invaluable service to the state organization has included, to both the Junior Creative program and the USPS officers, she has been confidante and advisor, hut, most of all, peacemaker. To all of us, she has been a gentle and loving hostess, seeking our welfare and not her own. Mrs. Shreve serves as liaison between the USPS and Rex Campbell for the KSL Sound of Music program which features many Utah poets. IN ADDITION to service to the Poetry Society, Mrs. Shreve has been a sounding board and critic for writing friends, of both poetry and prose. Her personal poetic achievements include awards for both published and unpublished poetry in the USPS and League of Utah Writers and contests. Her poetry is included in three anthologies, and a new book, Gifts Only You Can Give. MRS.
