Rites Held of HE WAS bom May 21, 1895, in Syracuse the son of James and Rachel Layton Warren. He was married to Eva Morgan, on December 22, 1915 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. WTth the exception of two years that he resided in Clearfield, Mr. Warren has lived in Syracuse. He had been engaged in farming, stock raising, and had been president of the Clearfield Ditch Company for a number of years He is survived by his widow Syracuse; one son and two daughters, Russell B. Barber Creek, Calif.; Mrs. Lionel (Elaine) Nance and Mrs. Alvin (Anna) Nance both of Syracuse, 14 grandchildren. of Walnut survived by two brothers and three sisters, ALSO Clyde Barber, Arthur Barber and Mrs. Leonard (Ivy) Jensen, all of Syracuse; Mrs. Leland (Norma) Patterson of West Point; and Mrs. Leonard (Nola) Berghout of Ogden. At the funeral services, the family prayer was given by Alvin Nance, with the prelude and postlude organ music HORACE BARBER Funeral services were held on Friady at p m. at the Svracuse Third LDS Ward (hapel for Horace Russel' (White) Barber, 72. 1031 West 2700 South, Swacuse. He passed away on Tuesday 1 evening at his home following a long illness MR. BARBER was born May 23, 1004 in Syracuse. He was the son of James Arthur and Luella Victoria Casper Earber. He was married to Cleo Bennett on Dec 9, 1931 in ihe Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Barber has resided in Syracuse his entire life Before his retirement he had in (arming and and was retired engaged stock-raisin- g from Hill Air Force Base, where he had been a boiler fireman. MR. BARBER w'as an active member of the Syracuse Third LDS Ward and had served as a Home Teacher, an Elders Quorum secretary and had also served as a committeeman for the Senior Citizens members. He was a High Priest in Stake. the Syracuse Utah played by Miss Linda Nance. Bishop Clayton J. Holt conducted the services solo, "Softly and Tenderly, was rendered by Lloyd Dahl. Invocation was given by Dale Thurgood Speakers were George H. Bennett, President C. Russell Hansen, President Vern Thurgood and remarks by Bishop Clayton J. Holt. Bennett TROY AND Lisa Barber, grandchildren of Mr. Barber, rendered a vocal duet, I Am A Child Of God, accompanied by Mrs. Carol Bodily. A vocal solo, The End Of A Perfect Day," by Dick Egan. The benediction was given by Clyde Barber, a brother. THE dedication of the grave was given by Russell B. Barber, a son. Burial was in the Syracuse Cemetery. Burial was in the Wanship Cemeof- tery. mnm Takes Part In Workshop 4-- H Nola Wagstaft ot Kaysville participated in the Club Leadership Workshop and General Sessions held at Utah State University on Thursday. MRS. WAGSTAFF was one of the speakers at one of the sessions. The meetings were for all club leaders from Davis County North in the Mrs. 4-- State. Mrs. Wagstaff said they gained information on new projects being introduced and general aids and helps in the programs, np heart attack. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on January 5, 1919, son of Karl L.W. and Sophie Schlegel Haase. HE MARRIED Kalamalil Pa in Kapag, Hawaii. The marriage was later solemnized in the Hawaiian LDS Temple on July 19, 1947. He had served with the U.S. Army in World War li, has worked in civil service for the Air Force as a quality control specialist for 25 years and moved to Clearfield in 1958. HE WAS a member of the Clearfield 4th LDS Ward and had served as a member of the bishopric. He had also HE HAD attended schools in Davis County and graduated from the Weber Academy. An active member of the Syracuse First LDS Ward, Mr. Warren had served on the Ward Finance Committee and other fund raising committees. He had been a civic and political worker. Surviving are his widow of Syracuse, one son James M. Warren of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and three daughters Mrs. Milton A. (Ruth) Kidman of Salt Lake Citv. Mrs. Helen W. Simmons, Circle Sycamore SIMMONS MR. died Friday, April 8, 1977 at his home of natural causes. He was born June 19, 1883 in Payson, Utah, a son of Patrick Lewis and Alicia Fairbanks Simmons. ON AUGUST 25, 1925 he ..married Marion Olsen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Simmons had worked most of his life as a farmer in Hazelton, Idaho and had spent his early life in Payson. He had also worked at the Ogden Arsenal and had lived in Clearfield since 1959. HE WAS a member and The Layton 15th Ward will hold a ward bazaar and carnival on Saturday, Apr. 30 from 2 p.m. to 7 p m. The event will take place in the Antelope Drive cultural hall located at 590 W. 2000 No., Layton. THERE WILL be games, and a special movie for the children. A g.hildrens shop, a crochet shop, a general store, a patchwork and quilt shop, a plant shop, a wood shop, and a bakery and candy shop will be located at different areas of the cultural hall.
