History is a study of mans past. Political science is the study of his government. Sociology is a study of his social order and civilization. Psychology is a study of his mental reactions to given situations. Philosophy is a study of himself in relation to Clod and the universe. The science of education is the means used to acquaint man with this accumulated knowledge about himself. It is because of this almost personalized aspect of study in the Social Science Division that these classes are intensely popular among students at Weber. Not only are they popular among Weber students, but for the past two years a class of Ogden city administrative heads and department officials have been meeting at the college at nights taking courses in the' political science field. The city officials have studied theory and methods of city government and administration. The college also teaches a course for the city police force which is well attended and enjoyed by the officers of the law. Dr. Basil C. Hansen, head of the Division, states that there are now more than two hundred students enrolled as education majors at Weber who intend, at least at the moment, to enter the field of teaching. Dr. Hansen says that this field far outsteps, numerically, the other major fields in his Division such and sociology. as pre-laDr. Hansen has a total of ten instructors in his division who are exceptionally well trained academically. Of the ten, five of them have doctoral degrees and the other five have obtained masters degrees.
