Budding artists practiced their talents decorating pumpkins. For 25 cents they could take the finished product home. Cathie Zimmerman received the Red Wagon Award as part of the Sixth Annual Franklin Covey International Symposium at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City Powell presented the awards while also receiving the Pnndple-Centere- d Leadership Award for his efforts. Zimmerman is associated with the Layton Community Action Council where she serves as a coordinator for the Safe Neighboi hoods Committee, writing brochures and other literature. In addition, she advises the recently-forme- d Lay ion Youth Court. Beyond that, she is a mentor, and volunteers an average of 0 hours a week to see that these programs succeed. Literacy and youth service are two major goals of the volunteer initiative.
