The Montlcello" collection from the designers at Moen features plenty of room under the spout, no exposed screws or narrow ridges to collect dirt and a washerless design with a lifetime limited warranty against leaks and drips. Prevent Workplace Injuries (NAPS) More safety for employees and more savings for employers could come from efforts to protect workers from injuries, experts agree. Workers compensation costs are an increasingly large part of an employers cost of doing business. Premiums go up when employees are injured in the workplace-a- nd when premiums go too high, business suffers. Fewer workers are hired and prices charged for the goods and services the company produces go up. Employee training programs can increase safety and reduce workers compensation costs. on-the-j- Companies also lose money when workers are injured because they may be unable to fill orders and lose customers. They must also spend time hiring and training new or replacement employees. Helping to hold down workers compensation costs and increase workplace safety is the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI). Its experience rating plan uses an employers payroll and loss data to measure how its performance compares to other similarly classified employers. It shows employers how, by implementing a loss control program and dedicating themselves to injury prevention, companies can lower their workers compensation premiums by many thousands of dollars. Here are some of NCCIs suggestions for increasing safety and injuries: reducing Demonstrate a desire to safety and take improve action with a written program. Remove quotas that can lead to overwork and accidents. Conduct safety inspections. Evaluate training procedures for employees. Train supervisors on how to involve employees in achieving a safe work environment.
