Show Center hosts 1 Friendly' artist In conjunction with the illustration illustra-tion show, "The Friend, Show and Tell," currently on exhibit through Nov. 2, the BountifulDavis Art Center will present artist Richard Brown, who will discuss "Illustration As a Career," Saturday, Satur-day, Oct. 27, 1-2 p.m. High School art students are invited to attend at no charge. Brown has been the senior designer for The Friend, an LDS magazine for pre-schoolers to teenagers, teen-agers, since its inception 20 years ago. The illustration show is a collection col-lection of the magazine art created by Brown and Shauna Mooney. Exploring illustration as a career, Brown will discuss what a successful suc-cessful commercial artist must cultivate including good drawing and draftsmanship, but also individual in-dividual expression, learning to really see and know the subject well, the value of simplicity (solid shapes and forms) and toughing out the creative process. Gallery hours at the BountifulDavis Boun-tifulDavis Art Center, 2175 S.
