Hie man is being sought by authorities following a shooting incident that occured near the Hi Hat Bar a week ago Monday. Kelly Randall, 1747 N. Wasatch students compete in spel ling bee contests from the Deseret News Spelling Bee list and were tested using the National Spelling Bee rules. Next the winner Todd Jonas will go to the area competition at North Davis Jr. High on March 7, where he will compete against winners from other local elementary schools and junior high schools. The winner of the area then goes to the District competition on March 14 at the auditorium of the Davis County School District Administration Building. State level competition in Salt Lake City will follow for the various District winners. The state winner will then CLEARFIELD On Friday, Feb. the Wasatch Elementary School in Clearfield Spelling Bee competition was held. Winners of the bee are Todd Jonas, 1st place; Shelley Heaps, 2nd place; and Gary Kemp, 3rd place. This contest was part of the Utah State Spelling Bee sponsored by Deseret News , Utah Education Association (UEA), State PTA, and the State Board of Education. Competition is organized to include grades 4 through 8. First, grade level contests were held in each classroom. At Wasatch, the 1st and 2nd place winners from the classrooms then went to the school competition. The city council has approved the purchase of a used gasoline SUNSET pump that can be obtained and installed for $505. The purchase is being made from Layton City. It was reported during last weeks meeting that Sunsets pump has needed almost constant repair and presently will no longer require unladed gasoline and Polict Chief Daryl Conger feared damage to the vehicles catalytic converters if the problem could not be corrected. Mayor Norm Sant reported that the purchase request has been in the budget for three years, but has been turned down because of lack of hinds.
