POA Report: Jack stated that the POA had not met as scheduled, but had turned over the property owners that were seriously ddinquent on their yearly POA dues to the POA's attorney for collection. Also applications are still being taken to fill the vacancy on the POA created by Bill Gasaway's resignation. Trash Report: Ken Johnson, of the Grand County Solid-Waste management district stated that the Moab Landfill is accepting yard & personal demolition waste free of charge on Sat. mornings from 9am till 12, free of charge. No kitchen gar— bage (basically anything that rots) will be accepted and afee of $4.50 per cu. yd. will be charged at all other times outside of these hours. He also stated that CC&R, whom had been offered the salvage rights to the Moab Landfill in exchange for taking over the operation of it had declined due to budgetary restraints. Further discussions will continue with them and if an agreement can't be reached, the landfill operation will be put up for bid. Permit Deptartment: Karen Nelson reported that someone had removed the laminated construction from the existing 30 ft. the BLM in which the Town expressed it's concern over the heavy damage being caused by ATV use along and off the dirt road system near Castle Rock. Much damage has been done by people driving ATV ’s off the established road and sensitive flora and fauna have been obliterated, creating a dust bowl type situation. The BLM had previously erected signs closing the roads in this area, but they were continually being ripped down. It was later found that they (BLM) had illegally closed these roads, having not followed proper procedures. They remain open as the BLM maximum to 25 ft. and also changed the way it would be measured. Shafer Lane Closure Update: Robert Ryan reported that Colin Fryer is committed to do the project continues to study the problem. PLANNING COMM.MAY 20th MEETING Members present: Chair Joan Sangree, Rick Lamb, Dave Porterfield, and Hertha Wakefield (Jake Burnett has resigned and his seat is open.)
