The Heat Pump Story" Due to the rapid accelerating coete of heating, considerable shifting to various methods is occurring. Although the heat pump is not new and has been m operation for over 25 years it now moves to the front. The heat pump does not generate heat nor does it consume electricity to do so. The heat pump merely transfers heat very much like your home refrigerator by way of an electric motor. The cost of electricity has risen but the heat that is transfered, " the sun's heat" is still free. The exciting WESTINGHOUSE HIREU heat pump has become very popular showing savings of 30 to 60 over conventional methods. one unit is naturally more economical than two units used for the same purpose. Certainly, it s more reliable because its more efficient. Think about this for a minute. When you have two units one for heating and one for cooling only one is really . .the other is idle. As long as temperatures can be recorded (even far below zero), its possible to take this heat from the air. Westinghouse engineers used this knowledge to develop a unit that can take heat from the outdoor air and transfer it into your home. This same remarkable unit can work in reverse by taking heat from inside your home and moving it outdoors. Thus, we now have one unit capable of handling both the heating and cooling needs of your home, automatically. reunioqandMrs Larsens history of mink Creek now living and invited them to send historical material and pictures. However, she said that she decided she might as well bring it right up to date. She personally contacted as many of the families who have lived in the ward or who Heat Pump Hi-Re- -L for and a half picking up the sheets. The sections from each line were placed on tables and then two others gathered the sections and took them to a row of tables where another crew assembled the sections and placed the covers on them. .fv What is it? e The Westinghouse HiReLi Heat Pump is an efficient Home Heating and Air Conditioning System . . . one system that can heat your home in cold weather then . . . automatically reverse itself and cool your home in hot weather. It consists of one indoor unit (looks like a present home heating unit), one oi.'door unit and a thermostat. the thermostat is set at the desired heating and cooling temperatures then all you do is sit back and enjoy the climate. Actually its workings are quite similar to your electric refrigerator. . .the interior is cooled while the coil on the back of the refrigerator gets very warm. Now ... if this removed heat were distributed through a series of ducts, you have in essence a Heat Pump! The Heat Pump basically comprised of an indoor coil, and outdoor coil and compressor has one great advantage over (pump) your refrigerator or any conventional cooling unit ... it can heat, as well as cool, the interior of your home. 852-276- 4 a 1 . - WHEN I STARTED the actual compiling of the history, I planned on only putting in histories of the old pioneers and settlers. As the work continued, I realized how important each generation was to the history of Mink Creek, so I have included histories up to the present time." She said that she worked very hard to try and find everyone who has lived in Mink Creek, but I realize that there may be some mistakes and some people who may have been left out, even with all my efforts. I hope no one is offended. Most of the typing for the book was done by Coralie Jensen Morrow, a native of Mink Creek, and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jensen. Mrs. Morrow lives n River Heights. Others also assisted. TIIK ROOK ENDED up with a brief history of the Mink Creek ward and the church buildings. A record of all the bishops, and then a history with pictures of almost every family that has lived in the ward. Because so many of the families in the ward go back for generations, they are large. Mrs. Larsen prc-sol- d copies of the book and from the sales had enough to pay for printing bill. The sale of the balance of the books will bring in enough to pay for the cost of photography, which was a sizeable bill, the covers and some of the other expenses. There may lx1 a little left over for Mrs. Larsen Tor all the work she did on the project.. . |
