She sticks an avocado seed in an inch of soil and Presto! gorgeous plant. I stick a seed in the dirt and Presto! it disappears. I love to see bright shiny green leaves on my plants. I read in a flower magazine that if I spread an even layer of mayonnaise on the leaves I would get the desired effect. I immediately spread the salad dressing on each leaf. Much to my dismay they looked so delicious my daughter ate them. Plants take up a great deal pf space in our home. Placed in strategic spots on our floor, cupboard tops and window sills the planters hover frayed carpeting, Kool-Ai- d spills and places that need painting. I've heard it said some people have green thumbs. However, the'only florist's thumbs I've seen have been blackened by rich dark soil. If I had my thumbs analyzed the only dirt one would find would rest under the nails. ' . 30-6- etc. The history of Elizabeth Zimmerman was given by Verla Lamb. I'm anxiously looking forward to planting my first garden. Why does dirt have to have worms in it? Worms do nothing for me. In fact, they make me ill. My biologist husband takes great pains in telling me the functions and duties of The Worm. He can talk until hes blue in the face. I just don't like placing a plant in the soil and finding that the hole is occupied by a long, fat, squirmy Worm. NOW In Germany Darmstadt, Germany (AIITNC) Army Private Michael P. Not really, says Max Peterson, associate director of the Merrill Library and Learning Resource Program at Utah State University. Utah library resources are already available for easy exchange, Peterson says. A reciprocal borrowing service established in 1973 by the Utah College Library Council (UCLC) make it possible for the public to borrow from the major university collections by contacting their public library. Public libraries will in turn plume the State Library Commission, which has access to microfilm copies of Utah State University, University of Utah and Brigham Young here. JILL TOOLSON .i Mormon Trail, Trappers Trails, w ' I LOVE PLANTS but the sole reason they survive can only be attributed to the fact that if they are lucky enough to be in the right place at the wrong 4ime my kids will spill something on them. I have a regular schedule I keep in order to know which plant needs watering. However, in my home no schedule remains for long and soon after I notice the leaves turning brown and falling on the floor, I grab the watering can and fill the planter to the brim. . Cooing softly to the leaves I apologize for my neglect and promise never to put them through such pain again.
