Show Two More File Judge Jesse P. Rich, for county attorney and Harold G. Wood of Lewiston, for county clerk, have filed their nomination petitions with the county clerk as candidates for the above offices on the Republican Re-publican ticket. Morris Found Guilty Tom Morris, 38, of Ogden, was found guilty of grand larceny early Thursday morning toy a jury in First district court. The jury deliberated 15 hours and returned re-turned their verdict at 2 a. m District Judge Lewis Jones set Tuesday at 10 a. m. for passing sentence. Morris was accused of stealing 84 head of sheep from Eph C. Jensen of Bear River City. Senate Candidate Here Joseph W. Jensen of Roy, Utah, speaker of the house of represen- tatives at the last session, was in Logan Friday, having accompanied v Mrs. Jensen here to attend a meeting of the board of trustees of the college. Mr. Jensen is a ' candidate for the state senate in Weber county. Espousing a policy favoring old age security. Mr. Jensen Jen-sen believes he should make a strong bid for election. The Weber county man was a former resident of Logan, having taught engineering engineer-ing at the B Y College from 1905 to 1907. Buying Sheep-Bert Sheep-Bert Danford of Richmond was in Logan Thursday. He was on his way to Hyrum to purchase a band of sheep. Incidentally Dr. Ruc-kenbrod Ruc-kenbrod and wife have a host of friends residing in Logan. The doctor gets a big wallop out of playing golf at the Logan Golf course and he engaged a number of his local golf buddies while here. Morse Ruckenbrod, the doctor's doc-tor's became a full fledged dentist by graduation last spring, has joined his father. This gives the senior member of the firm an opportunity op-portunity to get away from his office routine duties occasionally. New Yorker in Logan Dr. Frank E. Egler, professor of range management at the New York State college of forestry at Syracuse, New York, was a visitor visi-tor at the USAC Wednesday, Paul M. Dunn, reported. Dr. Egler spent a part of the day visiting the forestry school setup on the campus and the summer camp in Logan canyon, which, with its many fine facilities, proved impressive im-pressive to the eastern authority. Interesting is the fact that Dr. Egler replaced Vernon Young, an Aggie graduate, on the faculty of New York State college of Forestry. For-estry. Elated Over Prospects At Afton, Wyoming, Lester Bar-rus, Bar-rus, president of the Star Valley chamber of commerce, reports that prospects are favorable for obtaining obtain-ing an official route to Yellowstone Yellow-stone National Park through Star Valley. Barrus quotes Judge M. C. Harris of the Logan chamber of commerce roads committee, as advising ad-vising him that the Federal Roads commission attempting a compromise com-promise on the official routing to the park. Currier, who received his master's degree in botany from the college here in 1938, has accepted ac-cepted an assistantship at the University of California and will be located at Davis, Calif. Bergeson, 612 East, 2nd North street where children and matches started a fire in a barn and chicken coop. Loss was reported at $300. Fifty chickens and eight tons of hay were consumed.
