Show PORT ACE. Tlic Xorlh ('.unity hi tlin Tliroo of Klnr tlnii. Knrron Rltolkh: Our election passed off quietly with the exception of the boys that got a little too much bad whiskey. Both sides worked hard to get in their men, especially Win. II. Anthony and Solomon Hale for the Democrats. The former started to the canyon on the hard run on foot about sunset to hustle one of their men who did not like to see so fine a day pass without getting a load of wood. But Mr Anthony was a successful runner and got his man in on time. Joseph K and Wm. H. Gibb3 were on hand watching the interest of the Republican party and did some good hustling. Had a horse and cart on the run a good share of the time. The outcome was a surprise to all. The Democrats carried the Territorial Terri-torial and county ticket-here bv (1 majority. But the Republicans walked walk-ed off with the Delegates to llio Constitutional Convention with a fair majority. The health of the people is good, and all are praying for the Dm cratic goiJ tim:s, but think it is rather slow getting bore. They tell us we must be patient, and wait a little longer. T gu&33 we will have it to do. Ok HASIO-VALLV. Portage, Nov. 7th. |
