A man with any character, de-concy, de-concy, self-respect or gentlemanly instincts about him could not stoop to such vile, filthy, utterances, and gross miarcpreBentations. We do not believe half a dozen people in Cor-inne Cor-inne City can be found who approve ap-prove or endorse such an ungentle-manly ungentle-manly course on the part of their unrepresentative paper. The fellow fel-low who writes and publishes these slanderous articles against the reli- j gion of 7,000 out of the 8,000 people j in this oounty should be publicly : censured and be made to feel that the outburst of bis own mean prejudices prej-udices against the pioneers of this country" does not fond a re-echoing impulse in the better hearts aud natures. We wonder how Mossre. Jarrii, Conklin, Guthrie and other gentlemen gentle-men who are exerting themsclve to the utmost to build up and have populated that part of the county will accept such prejudicial and damaging statements from the paper whose very existence hangs on a frail threal in their hands. The Corinne paper is supposed to represent rep-resent these people, their section sec-tion and their lands. The quostion is, does it do it? They say birdB of a feather flock together. The writer of these abusive abu-sive and slanderous articles and the grinder of the Jones-Box hand-organ, hand-organ, which, by the way, has a local reputation of being nearly as bad as the Salt Lake Tribune, are as thick as cold mush. They have organized a mutual admiration admira-tion society and hug and loligag over each other like two young spoonies. These well-mated youths have banded themselves together in bonds, as close as only similar dispositions can do, to work against The Bugler and to injure its business busi-ness as far as possible. (We arc reliably informed that most of the firms that now support the Joaes-Box Joaes-Box band organ are doing it simply to get even on shaky debts contracted con-tracted by the originators of the paper.) Now after this "revolation" from the "inspired editor" of The Bugler, Bu-gler, we leave it to the people of this city and county, whether tou support these Tribune off-shoots in their vilifying ways and concerted attempts again &t ub or not. The Bugler is perfectly willing to abide by your decision. VlfXTlUKUXirSTfrOXOIiTII- ' J'JIty SATELLITES. ! Many times wc have passed by ' unnoticed t lie petty Mings, vile fulbohuods and gross misrepresenta- , tions of Ihe overwhelming majority of the people of Box Elder County 1 by the obscure little patent-iusides at Corinne, '(whose circulation is probably less then one hundred ' copies,) but when such papers as the Tribune pick these misstatements misstate-ments up and roll them over their tongues to the world as luscious morsels of food, then, nnd not until then, do they reach a dignity that justifies attention. As will be seen from the following, follow-ing, when Corinnc's third-class-joke-cracker attempts anything other than breaking the necks of worn-out puns, he completely loses 1 his legs, pitching over the horderB of reason into the stinking Bea of vilification and falsehood: PULLING THE WOOL OVER OUR EYES. We are told that the Mormons hear no malice towards the Liberals. Liber-als. We are begged to believe this, and some Gentiles are foolish enough to believe it. If any Liberal Liber-al will pick up a copy of the Bugler dated October 8th and read the review re-view of the tickets made up by the two parties of Box Elder County at the recent conventions, the reader will readily see that every candidate candi-date on those tickets who is not a Mormon is found fault with or remained re-mained unnoticed by the inspired editor. The Bugler is the crgan of the Mormon church at Brigham and voices the sentiments of the Mormon people. Wc now know the sentiments of these people and let us govern ourselves accordingly. When we are told that the "old issues" are dead we arc being told a cleverlv planned falsehood a falsehood behind which is concealed conceal-ed more mischief than we give the Mormons credit for being capable of doing. Corinne Calliojw. It is plainly seen that the chief object of the foregoing is to re-inspire the old Gentile hate and prejudices prej-udices against tho Mormons in order to secure Gentile votes hereabouts here-abouts for Liberal nominee Allen to Congress. Wc have no doubt but that Allen has bought the little Corinne sheet until after the election, elec-tion, and that the Tribune is paid so much a line for rc-copying iho swill-pail trash into 1 its more widely circulated but hartjly less untruthful and filthy columns. The "review" mentioned was not a review; it was made up of notes under the caption of "street talk." Those notes "found fault" with four Mormons and four Gentiles; and spoko favorably of three Gentiles Gen-tiles and three Mormons, failing to mention more Mormons than the number of Gentiles ''remained un-mentioned." un-mentioned." Until now, we were not aware that Peirce, Johnson and Page were Mormons. As to Tile Bugler beingtllhc organ of the Mormon Church at Brigham, and voices the sentiments of the Mormon poople," that idea was borrowed bor-rowed from an old Tribune source which no good Utonian will presume pre-sume to question; then why should we set ourselves up against that mighty monument of truth, excellence excel-lence and veracity? We prefer to let our readers judge for themselves, them-selves, although we explained our position in this regard to the Tribune Tri-bune in The Btoler of Sept. 10th. We seemed to satisfy that magnif- icent "American" sheet, of untold j virtue, on that occasion, for nary a J time has it opened its potato trap ', at us since. Why doesn't its J northern off-shoot take the same sensible view of the subject? i The other matters touched upon .in that article are too simple to j deserve notice. I To show just how vulgar, degraded degrad-ed ami ungentlemauly this same sheet is, we quote the following: from the same iue, not omitting J the half-dozen misspelled words it j contains: ' I While in dalt Lake last week thu Calinplst ! |
