Show IDAHO TEST OATH- It Must bo tti'pcnlcil Iy llio Sititfc Lcglsla turn. The supreme court of Idaho ruled this week that the test oath is constitutional and that if present conditions demand a change the application must be made direct to the legislature. This will prevent the Mormons from voting at the next election in Idaho. Few of the Mormons expected ex-pected to vote this year, anyway. Rut both political parties in Idaho are so anxious to secure the 2,500 Mormon voles, that there is little doubt but that the infamous test o.'ith will be abolished next session of the legislature. Either party would give a right arm for the credit of slaying and burying the obnoxious oath, so we expect to sec a monkey and parrot time between the Denis, and Ilepubs. to see who leads in this good work at the next session . |
