Show BRICHAM'S THEATRE AUDIENCES. Hearty Applaunc, when Merited, la Never Lost on an Actor. Brigham City's theatre-going public deserves a word of praise. A more warm-hearted, sympathetic sympa-thetic and appreciative audience cannot be found in the Territory. Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo and Logan are icebergs in comparison. If an audience wants a good night's treat and to see the actors at their best, it must show itB appreciation appreci-ation in rapturous rounds of warm applause. Nothing does an actor's heart more good or makes him unwittingly un-wittingly strive to out-do himself as these conventional outward signs of hearty appreciation. Don't bo afraid to show your approbation, but just make the old walls quake with your hearty plaudits. Even a Utile unmerited applause often brings out an actor. A cold, calculating, criticising audience, such ns we have often seon in Salt Lake and other Utah towns, does worlds toward cooling the ardor of an actor and operates like a great wet blanket, to cover and sul-due sul-due his finest efforts. Remember, then, hearty applause, especially ! when merited, is never lost on nn j actor, amateur or professional. |
