SCHOOL PLAY The High School Dramatic Club has now completed the preliminaries for the presentation of The School Mispress, a delightful comedy on school j'ife, which will be presented at the Alta theatre on Tuesday evening of next week. The students have been applying themselves vigorously to the task of learning to read and act the parts assigned them and Mrs. Georgie B. Johnson has a company of brilliant amateurs to present to the public next week. Jensen was in Manager Wilford Salt Lake on Tuesday of this week selecting costumes and now every thing is in readiness. Rehearsels will be held each evening until Tuesday in order that the artists may not suffer any lapses which would spoil the play, and a splendid production is as sured. M. flag Mahonri Josephson ship Pandora Mr. On Saturday last, Mr. Julius Smith who resides on North Main street, had an experience that might have cost him his life and which left him bruised and broken. He was attacked by an enraged bull which fortunateMr. ly had been dehorned or else Smith would have been gored to death. The animal forced the aged man up against the fence and corral fence tnd then proceeded to butt him and trample upon him. Mr. Smith cried for help but his cries were not heard and he finally succeeded in getting hold of the rope attached to the ring in the animals nose, passed it up over a pole and then drew down on the other end forcing the maddened animals head into the air permitting Mr. Smith to slip from under him and escape. A number of ribs were broken and one of his legs jvas so badly trampled that it 1b swollen as large as two ordinary limbs. The bull is general'y docile with those who are familiar to him but Mr. Smith was a stranger and as soon as the animal caught sight of him it came bounding after him with the above result At this writing Mr. Smith is suffering considerable pain and because of his age is progressing slowly toward recovery. tOX ELDER $ Kerosene for the Handa.
