Show JOHN F OLSON FOLSON DIED SATURDAY saturday afternoon atter noon at john frederick olson oison age 86 years yeara died at the family home corner fifth south and third east streets in this city of ailments incident Insl Ins dent ident to old age mr olson had been ill since last november his main brou trou trouble ble being dropsy but was only confined to his bed two weeks mr olson was born june 18 in sweden in his hia native land lie lia married misa annie olson and it was there that they joined the church of jesus christ of latter day saints they came to utah in the tall fall of 1883 and took up their residence in brigham city mr olsen was a ward teacher in the first ward for many years and a high priest at the time rf c his death for several years he worked tor for the late president lorenzo snow and was also at a later date tender of the court house grounds Hs he was a man of cheerful disposition and radiated sunshine all during his life he was pronounced by his neighbors and friends and all who knew him best as an honest man sixteen years ago his good wife died and two years later lie he married mrs Joh johannah annall ahrensbach mother of peter M I 1 ahrensback of this city surviving are the widow and tour four daughters of his first wife they are mrs annie quist and mrs hannah pratt of los angeles mrs L J larsen of long beach california and mrs airs augusta pratt of salt lake city mrs larsen was at his bedside at the time of his death there are also seventeen grand children and twenty one great grand children surviving funeral services will bo be held monday afternoon at 2 at the first ward chapel under the direction of bishop E M tyson interment will take place in the brigham city cemetery ery funeral services were held yesterday commencing at 2 0 clock at the sixth ward chapel under the direction of bishop E AL tyson the house was tilled filled with sympathizing friends of the family and there was a wealth of floral tributes the services commenced by the choir singing the hymn tho deepening Deep ning trials and prayer was offered by patriarch denmark jensen the hymn 1 I need thee every hour was then rendered by the choir eulogistic remarks were then made by the following tollow follow ng speakers patriarch 0 N stohl C I 1 hoist pre president sl norman lee and leon jensen speakers edward anderson of morgan sang 1 I know that my redeemer lives the closing song was s shall we meet beyond the river I 1 and benediction benedicti on was offered by W win in C horsley interment took place at the city cemetery ernest P horsley dedicating th the grave |
