Show MARGRETHE HANSEN OEM BEAU good woman of the first ward answers final summons funeral services Sunda sunday vt Al Margret argrethe hc grumstrup Grun hansen widow of the late james hansen passed from this mortal sphere on the dinst she was kyas but sixty two years old when death overtook her but she has ten keen sorely afflicted tor for the past year with a complication of diseases it was thought at one time last winter that she could not live much ion longer ger and her son nepal who was then on a mission in norway was sent for she lingered on however as stated until last friday mrs hansen was born in akande borg denmark december 17 IS 44 she became a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints salhus on april 1853 and emigrated to utah in the same year she married niels lars nielsen june 22 mr nielsen died in 1870 in the early spring and in the fall ot of that year she married james hansen deceased resided in the 1st ast ward of this city on the block mediately south of the tabernacle for many years and was greatly loved and respected by her neighbors who are always willing and anxious to tell of her good qualities funeral services were held in the ward meeting house sunday afternoon at 43 30 bishop J B D mcmaster SIc Master took charge the choir sang 0 lord responsive to thy call prayer by elder N nathan athan B cheney elder C ellas elias jensen sang a solo entitled 0 ye tears with quartette accompaniment the speakers were elders J D peters jacob jensen james olsen J at jenson prest lucins luchis A snow and bishop mcmaster it was a ale pleasie aluie IT one sen el 0 01 the borri for 0 t the e speakers pe akers to have the privilege of expressing their feelings on this occasion as all were fa oid acquaintances of the deceased and could bear personal testimony to her excellent character prest luclus lucius A snow recalled the admonition she had given her son eon when he be left for a mission it was be honest to bour anest with your fellow men and honest with god and all will be well said that when he recalled those words he felt fell that it if it were possible he must attend her funeral she was very affectionate in her family and exhibited great faith in the lord during the exercises sister lottle lottie cozier sang the beautiful solo entitled 0 love divine sister AlIk kelsen read some of her original verses which she had written in memory of the deceased the choir sang farewell all ear aar athly honors benediction by elder david rees the floral offering were lavish fitting emblems of her beautiful life members of the choir sang at al the grave wian it was dedicated |
