Nish, chairman, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation county committee, has announced. The referendum was held through out the nations 39 commercial wheat states. According to preliminary results, 68 percent of the growers voting approved quotas for wheat. A favorable vote of at least is required in order to make the quotas effective. In Utah, 65.3 percent of the growers- - voting approved the quotas. , In Box Elder county, 74.8 percent of the growers voting approved the quotas. ' With marketing quotas in effect for the 1963 wheat crop, a farmer who complies with his 1963 wheat allotment will be able to market all the wheat he produces without penalty, and he will be eligible ,for price support at a national average of, at; least $1.82 per bushel. A farmer who exceeds his alfor lotment will not be eligible price support, and if he also more than 15 acres of wheat (except those taking part in the program) he will be subject to a penalty on each bushel of excess wheat.
