Show t W Man Charged Willi Dense Fog Covers Salt Lake Baby Negligent Homicide Dies Tuesday r Wayne Lee Chambers, 19, was arraigned in city court Tuesday on a charge of negligent homicide. Chambers reportedly was driver of a car in which Daniel William Rees, 23, Brigham City was killed Nov. 2 when the vehicle collided with a second auto two miles south of Bear River City. Four other persons were injured in the mishap. ' Under Utah law, negligent homicide is an indictable misdemeanor. No date for preliminary hearing was set after Chambers attorney asked to have the matter continued. . The Elwood man was released on his own recognizance. Area Last Weekend Dies of Probably the heaviest, most dense fog experienced here in many years, moved into this area last weekend, creating a cold, gloomy, dismal atmosphere. The fog was at its worst Sunday afternoon and evening when traffic was held at a minimum and visibility remained at zero for nearly 12 hours, according to Charles Clifford, local weather observer. Some fog was noticed Friday and Saturday, prior to the invasion Sunday afternoon. Call of 1354 West Eighth North, Salt Lake City, former residents of Brigham City, passed away Tuesday at noon in a Salt Lake City hospital of a congenital heart condition. He was born Sept. 12, 1957, in Brigham City. His parents moved to Salt Lake City the following month. Wallace Johnson, 69, of 123 West Second South, died Monday morning at 9:05 a. m. in an Ogden hospital after a years illness. He was born Nov. 1, 1889, in Brigham City, a son of Louis Peter and Susan Elizabeth Watkins Johnson. He was reared and educated in Brigham City, Mr. Johnson had owned and operated a farm in South Brigham for a number of years. At the time he became ill, he was employed at Fife Rock Products company here. An active member of the LDS church, he was a High Priest in the Brigham City Ninth ward at the time of his death. He had also served as a ward teaching supervisor and was a member of the ward choir for many years. He had also been a member of the former Brigham City Band for many years. On June 16, 1915, he married Lucy Larsen in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Survivors include his widow of Brigham City; two sons and two daughters: Curtis L. Johnson of Perry; Whitney L. Johnson of St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Merl (Ruth) Beecher of Brigham City; and Mrs. Clifford (Carrol) Woodland of Willard; 20 grandchildren; two brothers, Lucius Johnson of Brigham City, and Jorn Johnson of Yuba City, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 P- m. in the ward Brigham City Second-Nintchapel with Bishop Claude Olsen officiating. Friends may call at the Harold B. Felt Funeral Home Thursday from 7 to 9 p. m. and Friday prior to time of services. Interment will be in the Brigham City cemetery. Bunderson school records show rapid growth during the past three years. The school has jumped from 217 students and six classrooms in 1956, to 321 students in nine regular classrooms this year. Jensen. He married Mary Clark on Aug. 6, 1918, in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. A pharmacist, he had formerly been part owner in the Brigham City Pharmacy in Brigham City. He also had been associated with Strevell-PattersoHardware Co. in Salt Lake City for 35 years as a salesman. Mr. Jensen was a veteran of World War I and active in American Legion as district commander at Price in 1930. He also was a member of Price American Legion Post and its Last Squad group. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Wilford Jensen of Salt Lake City; Clark Jensen of Monroe, Mich.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Albert C. Jensen of Sandy; Willard R. Jensen of Salt Lake City; and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Geisler of Salt Lake City. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 10 a. m., in Salt Lake City. Burial was in the Brigham City cemetery.
