Mary Jo and her mother were given special recognition at the ceremony because Mrs. Harris was the only mother present who was a member of this organization in which her daugh ter was initiated. Sponsoring the banquet were members of the National Golden Spike Association and the National Association of Sons of Utah Pioneers. Places were set for 85 with postcards featuring a color print of trains and Thanksgiving prayers marking the places for the guests. A brief history of the valley was given by Mr. Reeder during the serving of the turkey dinner. Special guests attending included Karl B. Hale, president of the National SUP; Earl Hansen, vice president; Clarence Reeder, secretary and Horace Sorenson, master of ceremonies. Following remarks by President Hale and other officers, the master of ceremonies gave a report and recent decisions concerning the new maior tourist in Northern Utah, attraction Corinne Railroad Museum. He explained that the 500 feet of track are now laid and trains and cars are in Ogden and will be stored there until spring. He continued by saying the organizations are renting the land involved at $1 for ten years with an option to renew. Both Union Pacific and Southern Pacific will donate special equipment and at the dedication ceremony planned for spring, of ficials of both railroads will be present. Mr. Sorenson enthusiastically urged people to help in the project in publicizing the epic of Corinne and encouraging all to visit historic Utah.
