As the oldest of eight children, she naturally assisted her mother in the kitchen. And she has continued in that calling as the wife of Vanez T. Wilson, as the mother of five, as an active LDS church worker, and as a grandmother who delights in hosting family dinners for special occasions. No matter where the family lived, her favorite recipes made a place seem like home immediately. Her husband travelled with the government as an engineer, but they always considered Brigham City as their home base. He conducted the preliminary surveys for the Bear River Bird Refuge and they lived out there for nine years, transporting the children into town for school and activities. Earlier this year, Margaret lost her husband, so she particularly enjoys having her daughter Mrs. Wayne (Margaret Ann) Call and family living nearby. Son Dr. Vanez B. Wilson lives in Salt Lake City, and grown children William Budge Call and Mrs. George (Joyce) Badger both live in Southern California where she visits about four times a year. The Wilsons also lost a young child to a lingering illness. She takes particular delight in watching her 14 grandchildren growing up fast and in five greatgrandchildren. Margarets favorite recipes are no secret, for shes shared both the recipes and their results willingly for years. She has helped prepare countless church dinners, club luncheons, and has shared recipes and techniques in Relief Society. Many of. those friends recommended her as an extra-goocook for this column. Through the years she has served on ward and stake boards for Primary, Mutual and Relief Society and now finds her work at the branch genealogy library very rewarding. Shes also been a member of Civic Improvement club for many years. But the most rewarding times are those when the family gathers at her home for a meal, especially outdoors on her pleasant covered patio. Everybody pitches in to help. Thats an old family tradition, too. Try these family pleasers and they may become family traditions at your house as well: peace. Rev. Kowalski, his wife Mary, and three of their five children have resided in Brigham City since this fall. He comes to the ministry after having two previously successful careers. For 16 years he was a warrant officer in the US Army and served throughout the United States, Germany, Korea and Japan. He then established a consultant firm for small businesses and was involved in this enterprise for four years. His call to the ministry became a reality four years ago when he returned to the Methodist Theological School of Ohio and completed his masters of divinity degree. Just prior to coming to Brigham City he was associate pastor of the First United Methodist church in Massillon, Ohio. likes to shore her good cooking and her recipes with family and friends.
