Show i BOX ELDER JOURNAL, TOPS elects officers Brigham City Utah Thursday, April 7, 1977 at Tuesday meet New officers were installed by the Utah TOPS 69 chapter of Brigham City at their meeting on Tuesday, April 5, at Holy Cross Lutheran church. New offiers are Doris Ball, leader; Sherry Locascio, coleader; June Ammons, secretary; Betty Cook, treasurer. Installation was conducted by Leader Kathy Cottam. Phyllis Worthington was queen of the week. Marie Crossman received her charm, Kathy Cottam her KOPS status, and LaVerne Mansfield received her bracesix-wee- k let. Anyone interested in TOPS is invited to attend the meetings held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday at the Lutheran church. OFFICERS of Golden Spike chapter are Karen Bingham, historian-reporter- ; Cindy Burt, secretary; Rosemary Jenson, vice president; Karen Christensen, president; Bette Dallin, past president. HOMEMAKERS Club announces winners HS in Winners of the annual high art show and contest held during the Civic Improvement club birthday party on Saturday, March 26, were announced during the luncheon event by Chairman Donna Mann. Dave Kafton walked away with the coveted popular choice contest taken by a vote of the club members, as well as topping the winners in the painting category. Brad Lones won second in that category, with Scott H. Berrett in third place. Winners in the drawing category were Julie Willbur, first; Doug Osburn, second; Dave Kafton, third. Cary Henrie topped the design and commercial art contest with Julia Ann Thompson and Julie Lucas winning the second and third prizes. In sculpture Francine Mower took first prize honors, and Jeff Black and Scott H. Berrett filled out the winners alte. Rachel Legare, AFS student Latest Arrivals school LORNA FISH Local miss will wed in June temple rite and Mrs. Lews at announce the engagement and of their forthcoming marriage daughter Lorna to Steven R. Mr. J. Fish Park, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Park of Bountiful. Miss Fish is a graduate of Box Elder High school and is now attending Southern Utah State college in Cedar City. The future bridegroom is a graduate of Bountiful High school and has attended Utah State university. He has fulfilled an LDS mission in Italy and is now attending Southern Utah State college, where he will graduate next .. year with a BA in music education. June 3 has been circled by the 'couple for their wedding in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They will be honored at a reception that evening in the LDS Indian chapel in Brigham City, and an open house will be held the following evening in Bountiful. - Box Elder Homemakers install new club officers GS art contest High school, won first prize in ceramics. Second prize went to Rod Law and third to Holly McIntosh. Judging for the art contest was done by Iona Duncan and Beverly Child, local professional artists, and by Carol M. Bingham, junior high school art instructor. Many other pieces of art work from Box Elder High school students were on display, providing a special show for those attending the birthday party. In addition, there was a ful i display, of the needlework art done by members of the Civic Improvement club. MUSICAL Golden Spike chapter of Utah Young Homemakers held their annual election and installation of officers at a meeting held in February. Outgoing officers were in charge of the event. They included Bette Dallin, president; Karen Christensen, vice president; Cindy Burt, secretary; fTIusical program slated for bosses event Estelle Price, reporter; and Judy Chlarsen, reporter. After the election they had a speaker who spoke on the consumer buying of produce. Louise Checketts is the advisor of the group which consists of homemakers in the Bear River, Honeyville, or Corinne areas. They hold their meetings once a month in Bear River City and anyone is invited to attend. Interested persons may contact 1 Louise Checketts at or Karen Christensen at International annual bosses Extensive planning has been going on to make this one of the most memorable events of the year, with members of the Cecilian Music Society to present a musical program planned especially for the occasion. Presenting the program will be Naone Godfrey, Connie Jus-tese- TOPS chapter Roxanna Dickey and Pat Davies with arrangements made by Kathy Bradford. Also included on the program will be a special guest speaker. Floral decorations will lend a festive air of spring to each table, and the annual bake sale is included as part of the morning activities. Chairman for the Bosses Breakfast is llene Forsgren. She is being assisted in planning by Margo Flint and Evelyn Anderson, invitations; Joyce Harmon and JoAnn Valentine, reservations; Marge Dickey and Drewes Floral, decorations; Eva Noles and Marge Anderson, bake sale; Janice Petersen and Cleora Rawlins, bulletin; Annabelle Loosti, publicity.
