Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Conley Christensen, Willis Christensen of Tremon-ton- , Mr. and Mrs. Leon Christensen, Miss Mabel Christensen of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Clark, Mrs. Nelda Hight of Kearns, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reese of Kaysville, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Larson of Mantua, Mrs. Eva Clark, Miss Afton Ravsten, Mrs. Leola Christensen of Clarkston, David Christensen of Ogden. Following the dinner the group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Larson in Mantua for a social. Mr. and Mrs. LaRon Udy and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Udy attended sacrament meeting in the Mendon ward chapel Sunday where the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hansen was blessed and given the name of Andrea Lea Hansen.. Mr. and Mrs. LaRon Udy are the grandparents of Andrea Lea and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Udy are the Other grandparents who joined them for a family dinner party at the Marvin Hansen home following the meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Moses Hansen of Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling spent Thursday in Salt Lake City visiting Mrs. Edith Welling in the LDS hospital. They report she is recuperating nicely from her recent heart surgery. They also visited Wendell Welling and Gale Wellings niece, Mrs. LaRue White (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Welling), who were each receiving care at the LDS hospital. Back Home Saturday Wendell Welling returned home after medical care at the LDS hospital. He is reported to be recovering nicely. His wife spent a good share of her time with her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Gloria) Holmgren and family while her husband was hospitalized. Mr. and Mrs. Holmgren and Britany spent the weekend at the Welling home. Enjoying luncheon with Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mason Saturday were their son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Dent Mason of, son-in-la- Ogden. The small daughter of Terry and Linda Peterson Lewis was blessed by her father in sacrament meeting Sunday and given the name of Katy Ann Lewis. Little Kelsey Grover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Grover, has been spending a week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Grover, while her parents were in the process of moving from Rock Springs, Colo., to Evanston, Wyo. to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Anderson have been spending the past week in Overton, Nev. visiting and daughter their Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Leming and family. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Jones and family attended sacrament meeting in the Tremon-oFirst ward where the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Sandall was blessed by her father and given the name of Sharsti Lee Sandall. son-in-la- n Dinner Party Immediately following the meeting a dinner party was held at the Sandall home. Other guests in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Jones and family were Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Cannon of Delta, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cannon and family of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Dan L. Whiting and family of Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting of Plymouth and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sandall of Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Orvin Pierson and family accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierson and son Russell of Plymouth to Bountiful Saturday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Gary Woodruff and family. Orvin Pierson and son Randy and Russell Pierson accompanied Gary Woodruff to Grand Junction, Colo, and brought back a load of peach trees. Fred Coombs is spending this week visiting his brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Milton (Nellie) Fife in Salinas, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Garn and family entertained at a dinner party at their home Monday evening honoring Lynns mother Mrs. Darvel Garn who was observing her birthday, anniversary. Other guests included Darvel Garn, Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Garn, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Archibald and daughters Ginger and Cami of Fielding and Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Lefler of Riverdale. Mrs. Donald Petersen accompanied her sister Mrs. Fred Christensen of Bothwell to Bountiful Wednesday where they visited their sister Mrs. Ray Stark. The three ladies enjoyed dinner at Lees Cafe in Bountiful honoring Mrs. Petersen who observed her birthday anniversary recently. Last Monday Mrs. Rachel Burton accompanied by her daughter Mrs. Barbara Robinson and family in Montrose, Colo., visited Mr. and Mrs. Todd Garbanati and family in Snow-villTuesday Mrs. Robinson and family left for Sandy to visit Mr. and Mrs. Clay Robinson and Mrs. Milton Smith of Grace, Idaho. Mrs. Smith is Leavitts sister. Special Luncheon Mrs. Janet Adams attended a special Tupperware hostess luncheon held at the Baugh Motel in Logan Thursday morning. Mrs. Adams had as her guests at the luncheon Mrs. Doris Page and Mrs. Dorothy Davis of Brigham City, Mrs. Patty Bolingbroke and Mrs. Pam Lee of Malad. Mr. and Mrs. Bart Flint accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. 1 Greg Williams of Garland attended the cutter and chariott races in the world finals held at the Bannock fair grounds in Pocatello Saturday. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pulver and family Thursday evening were Mrs. Dennis Yeates and sons Colby and e. and family afterwhich they planned to return to Montrose the latter part of the week. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. John McClellan and family visited Mrs. Edith Welling in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. They also visited Mrs. McClellans aunt Mrs. Elise Gangien who is recuperating at the LDS hospital. Thursday Mrs. Dora Anger visited Mr. and Mrs. Darald Simmons and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anger and family in Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Anger and family in Bountiful. Mrs. Isabel Allred and daughter Yvonne spent Saturday visiting Mrs. Allreds and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Smith and family in Lay-to- Owen of Logan. son-in-la- n. Mr. and Mrs. Rosel Zundel spent Saturday visiting in Logan. Cutter Racing Among those who attended the world finals in cutter racing at Bannock fair grounds in Pocatello during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Verl Udy, Boyd Udy, Thayne Jones, Anger, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Anger, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Allred, McKay Allred, Lynn Allred, Dirk Allred and Mark Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Forsberg, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Srrtith, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hunsaker of Tremonton enjoyed a dinner party at the Utah Noodle in Ogden Saturday evening. Vacationing in Las Vegas last weekend, were Mr. and Mrs. n Emerson EarL ' Brent Moon, Paul Jensen and Randy Archibald were in Denver Thursday through Saturday attending auction sales. Friday Mrs. Voylet Grover and Leon Grover attended a wedding reception for Mrs. Grovers niece, Linda Tuck who De-Ve- rl became the bride of Grant McCallister in rites performed in the Salt Lake Temple Friday morning. Following the reception Mrs. Grover and Leon Grover were dinner guests of Ed and LaRee Fowler and family in Granger. Mrs. Teri Garn and Mrs. Carol Ann Hess along with Mrs. Valisha Wright of Richmond and Mrs. Wanda Lundahl of Providence enjoyed shopping in Ogden Saturday afterwhich they had luncheon at the Utah Noodle cafe. Saturday Mrs. Voylet Grover accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Brough and son Daren and friends of Tremonton joined Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson and family of Hagerman, Idaho at Pocatello to attend the world finals in cutter racing. Eldon was a winner both last week and again Saturday. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Leavitt Friday were Mr. Dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Donetta Petersen Saturday were his sisters Mrs. Carol Robbins of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Stella Beck of Midvale. Visiting Mrs. Alene Sutherland Saturday were her son and Mr. and Mrs. daughter-in-laKent Sutherland and sons Kyle, Blair, Von and Greg of Ogden. Amley Pulver who has spent the past two months with his son Charles and family returned to Provo to spend the next few weeks. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Munson and family Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Doug Edwards of Logan. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Earl hosted a dinner party at the Grand View restaurant in Logan for Patriarch and Mrs. Leo Earl of Logan. The occasion was Mrs. Leo Earls 86th birthday anniversary. Weekend South Mr. and Mrs. Rex Richards spent last weekend in Southern Utah. They visited Mr. and Mrs., NueL (Dorothy Richards) Car-do- n in Bloomington, near St. George. They enjoyed visiting Zions National park and Bryce Canyon. They went especially to attend a homecoming at the ward chapel in Cannonville Sunday morning for Elder Joe Thompson who had just returned after fulfilling an LDS mission in Washington state where he was a missionary companion of Elder Jim Richards. Friday Elder Thompson was visiting relatives and friends in the Logan area and also visited at the Rex Richards home. Thursday evening Mr. and Mrs. LaRon Udy and Fred Coombs joined Attorney and Mrs. Arden Coombs of Ogden for a family dinner party at the Lions Den. The occasion was the tenth wedding anniversary of Attorney and Mrs. Coombs. Miss Jolene Rudd entertained at a baby shower at her home last Saturday for her friend Mrs. Cindy Newman of Bothwell. Twelve friends spent the evening tying an attractive baby quilt for the mother-to-bLight refreshments were enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. James E. They were going there to meet Dannys husband, Clare who is stationed' with the armed forces Jerry Collings . earns award On their return home this past week they enjoyed a stop in New Mexico at Carlsbad Cavern which they were really impressed with the vastness and beauty of the cave. The first clocks were made by blacksmiths around 1300. They were enormous iron contraptions driven by bulky weights, usually too big to fit into anything smaller than a church steeple. A gigantic indoor clock built in 1360 for the King of France (and still running in 1852) was driven by a rock. Welcome Home We would like to welcome home severai seasonal travelers who traveled to'the southwest to spend the winter. As it turned out this year they spent our lovely spring season in Arizona and California to return home to Utah just in time for the S First-Aid-O-R- ing. Spending the past three months in sunny California were Wayne and Maxine Nelson. They left for California right after Christmas and spent their time at Hemet. While there they enjoyed lovely weather. They golfed most every day and renewed acquaintances with friends from last year. Wayne has a brother living down there so they also winter season. Floyd and Retha John spent three months in Yuma, Ariz. They left the first part of December and took their trailer which they lived in at a trailer village. Mr. and Mrs. William Kotter have received a call to serve a mission in the New Zealand temple. The couple will depart for New Zealand as soon as they receive their visas. Their granddaughter and a former resident of Harper, Marion Kotter, was visiting in the ward this weekend. Her big news was the engagement ring that she was wearing. Miss Kotter is engaged to Ross Pas-keof Wells, Nev. The couple plan a June wedding. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kotter of North Powder, enjoyed visiting family. They arrived home last Friday in the midst of one of our more recent snow storms. In sacrament meeting Sunday evening the Perry First ward. Junior Sunday school and Primary presented a very lovely program intitled Every Member a Missionary. The children of this age group preformed many numbers led by Holly Johnson and accompanied by Mrs. Louise Davis and Carol A reminder to Jerry Collings, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Collings of 644 North Sixth East, Brigham City, has earned his Arrow of Light award. He is a Webelos in pack 329 sponsored by the Brigham City 20th ward. The scout has earned seven activity badges, the Wolf, Bear and Bobcat badges and a gold and three silver arrows.
